Oct 19, 2010 - laminate flooring sucks! Using all the right tools still makes this job hard. Even using others to help, the pcs just kept coming apart as you install additional rows. gave up on this crap.

Nov 15, 2010 - Wait a minute. He never mentioned the spacers at the end of the video... are you supposed to remove the spacers before nailing the baseboards in, or do you leave the spacers in??

Apr 11, 2011 - I installed my entire flooring after watching this video, and I must say the job finished perfectly. Every house is different so there'll always be small problems along the way.... but if you have the confidence to even start a job like this, then I'm sure you'll overcome them with ease. This video certainly helps avoid any major difficulties.

Apr 14, 2011 - This is a great video but I found a couple of additional techniques helped. For spacer at the wall we found a 1/4 in plywood cut in 4" x 24" strips was more sturdy and helped keep the floor from moving. We had an uneven wall and using a lesser gap would have allowed shoe moulding I like better than 1/4 round. Also you need to snug up each piece as you go by tapping along the side and end to tighten them up and lock each piece together. The video shows them just snapping together - not...

May 22, 2011 - Hi there. I live in an apartment. The landlord hired a flooring company to instal floors like the ones in this video. However, the contractor laid them directly over old broadloom carpet. As you can imagine, the wood slats have all slid apart, leaving holes of from 1/4 to 3/4 inches between most of the boards. I am looking for a cheap, respectable fix to fill the holes -- as a tenant, not wanting to spend much. Any tips or another video will be appreciated.

Jun 1, 2011 - Why "exactly" does he staggered the 1st plank on row 2? and Is this the only one that is cut by 12 inches throughout the entire project?
madbadger2742 Says:
Jul 5, 2011 - You need to stagger the joints to distribute the load of someone walking on a joint. Also, it looks better. And no, you need to stagger the rows randomly throughout the job.

Dec 17, 2011 - When caulking the toilet leave a small part that is not sealed. If your toilet leaks and is completely sealed, it will take longer to notice the leak destroying the floor.
